This course is to enhance managers skills around raising the performance of staff who report to them. Managers are asked to come to the event having agreed their learning objectives with their line manager.
New and Aspiring managers
By the end of the course you will be able to:
define how others see good and bad management behaviours – seeing different perspectives
identify the core responsibilities of a manager
state the key personal skills of a manager
summarise the absence management process within East Sussex County Council
use the supervisory 12-4-2 framework in a way that supports performance
define boundaries to positively impact successful delivery of feedback
promote clear expectations by defining responsibility, accountability and authority when delegating
understand the impact of unconscious bias in our decision making
use a range of feedback mechanisms and sources to reduce the impact of bias
give structured feedback that challenges underperformance or poor behaviour and celebrates success authentically using models such as BIG, CORB and STAR)
this course is highly participative and involves both individual and group work
participants will be asked to relate theory to their own situation
participants will have the opportunity to formulate detailed action plans to implement after the completion of the course
participants will be asked to reflect on and share their experiences and underpinning beliefs
Parking around St. Mary's House is scarce due to limited parking.
Corporate Training offer a selection of teas/coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits. There is no canteen in the building, but a sandwich lady calls at 10:45 am each day, when delegates can purchase lunch.
