Course description

This session is designed to provide school governors with specific information about how data protection legislation impacts their role in schools.


The session will:


· Provide an overview of the new General Data protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018


· Explain what governors need to know about data breaches, subject access requests and data processing within schools.


· Outline how governors can monitor Data Protection compliance within their school.


The session will also provide an opportunity for networking where school governors will be able to discuss with colleagues the impact of Data Protection and share their experiences of common data protection problems with our experienced team on hand to provide guidance and support.

Provide an overview of Data Protection and how data protection legislation impacts governors.

Understanding of Data Protection and the actions required to ensure compliance.

Target audience - These sessions are for governors only.

Cost: £75 (or free for up to 5 members of staff from DPO schools*)

* For schools that have bought into the DPO traded service (IG4 or IG5) - training is free for up to five members of staff, attendance here is counted as one of the training sessions included as part of the DPO package.
