This course provides participants with the knowledge that will enable them to identify signs and indicators of abuse and their responsibilities in terms of responding to and highlighting any concerns, appropriately using East Sussex County Council procedures. It will also discuss the wider safeguarding role and discuss how to identify children and families who require an Early Help Plan and where to get the appropriate help and advice.
Please find attached the Continuum of Need and indicators and information on the Prevent Duty and British Values. These will be referred to during the training so please familiarise yourself with these.
This course is NOT suitable for Registered Childminders and Designated Safeguarding Leads. Please attend either the "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - initial Training" or "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher training" as applicable. All registered Childminders and Designated Safeguarding leads must attend the Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - initial training or Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher training.
