Why do you do what you do?


Foster Carers are part of a multi-disciplnary team; this course aims to build on your understanding of your own roles and responsiblities, to ensure you are an effective member of the team, when planning outcomes for Children & Young People.


 

Training objectives
Learning outcomes

During the course participants will develop an understanding on:



  • The Key Legal and regulatory frameworks

  • Care planning principles, permanence options, including twin/triple track, timescales and pathway plans

  • The foster carer's role

  • Role of the IRO/Role of Guardian, minmum review frequency and matters to be discussed

  • Differences between LAC on section 20 & 31

  • How to make representation if the child or FC do not think they are being heard or are not in agreement with the care plan
