To explore how young people use technology today and how we can support them to stay safe. This course reflects current trends and is specific to the teenage years.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will have:



  • Explored how young people use technology and why we should empower them to make the most of the benefits.

  • Looked at current trends, including the Dark Web.

  • Identified the potential risks.

  • Addressed possible ways of minimising risk.

  • Identified the importance of their Safe Care Plan.

This course will reflect the Fostering Network’s ‘Fostering in a Digital World’ a common sense guide. Participants will receive a copy of this guide, alongside a number of other resources.
