To give participants clear guidelines about referrals/process/expectations for Non-Accidental Injury, Child Sexual Abuse, and Welfare Medicals.
This course is open to a targeted audience only. It is for professionals who will be directly involved in the Children Medicals process and who have a relevant need to investigate. The target audience for this course is those staff who work in East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT) , Police and Practice Managers , Senior Practitioners , Social Workers within East Sussex County Council.
At the end of the course participants will understand:
· when to consider requesting Safeguarding Medicals, and what type of Medical is most appropriate
· the process of referral for each Medical, both for in-hours as well as out-of-hours services
· clear expectations and standards of good practice for all professionals.
This course is open to a targeted audience only. If places become available closer to the time we will advertise in the normal way.

PREPARATION AND FOLLOW UP
Before attending any LSCB training course, participants must attend a Basic Signs and Indicators Child Protection course provided/commissioned by their own organisation or have accessed the Safeguarding Children online e-learning training course.
To complete this course go to the e-learning section on the East Sussex Learning Portal, enter the Children’s Workforce channel and click Safeguarding.
REFRESHMENTS are provided however lunch is NOT provided.
