Course description

To enable participants to explore effective inter-agency working in Child Protection Conferences and Core Groups.



Training objectives


Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will understand how to:

  • explore the purpose and functions of Child Protection Conferences and Core Groups

  • understand their professional and statutory function in relation to preparation and attendance at such meetings

  • develop Child Protection plans

  • look at parental behaviour and professional practice.

Additional Information
A maximum of three representatives from each team may have a confirmed place and further bookings will be put on a wait list.

Before attending any ESSCP training course, participants must attend a Basic Signs and Indicators Child Protection course provided/commissioned by their own organisation or have accessed the Safeguarding Children online e-learning training course. To complete this course go to the e-learning section on the East Sussex Learning Portal, enter the Children’s Workforce channel and click Safeguarding.

REFRESHMENTS are provided however lunch is NOT provided.
