Code: EQ015 Equalities : Working with Transgender and Gender Questioning Children and Young People

Led by Allsorts, a project which supports young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This course will provide an insight into the lives of trans* and gender questioning children and young people and help participants support young trans* people develop a strong sense of identity. The course will share practical ways to make services more inclusive by exploring trans identities, terminology and challenging transphobia.

The term trans* is used to describe any person who would fit into the definition below:

Transgender/Trans/trans* – Umbrella terms used to describe people who identify as:

  • Transgender
  • Transsexual
  • Cross-Dresser
  • Intersex
  • Neither male nor female
  • Androgynous
  • A third gender
  • Or who have a gender identity which we do not yet have words to describe.

This subsidised course will support practitioners to understand attachment theory in relation to their own practice.

It is a course for practitioners working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is particularly suitable for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) and those with supervisory responsibilities. Settings with a Looked After Child (LAC) will qualify for one FREE place.

This course is a revised version of courses run in 2015-16 and in 2016-17.

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile.

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.
