Code: AS722 Assessment : New Key Stage 1 Assessment Support Event - FREE! (EVENT FULL)

These FREE interactive events aim to support Year 2 teachers to identify gaps in their pupils' learning and develop strategies to move them forward effectively. There will be opportunities to share good practice and effective assessment approaches between schools and teachers will be supported to develop their pedagogy and practice. The sessions will be facilitated by trained moderators and supported by colleagues from the Local Authority. The aim is that all primary and infant schools will send at least one Year 2 teacher to one of these new, supportive events.

Code: ESC/19/9 Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (1 Day) (EVENT FULL)

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is covered over 6 hours. It provides an excellent introduction to the basic principles of First Aid, and trains you to take control of a first aid situation in the workplace in the absence of a fully trained First Aider (see First Aid at Work).

The course tutor will assess you throughout the course, through multiple choice papers and observations. Upon completion, First Aid Awards will provide a certificate.

Your certificate will last for 3 years.

Code: EQ016 Equalities : Working with Transgender and Gender Questioning Children and Young People for Schools

Led by Allsorts, a Brighton based organisation which supports young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. This course will provide an insight into the lives of trans* and gender questioning children and young people and help participants support young trans* people develop a strong sense of identity. The course will share practical ways to make schools more inclusive by exploring trans identities, terminology and challenging transphobia.

The term trans* is used to describe any person who would fit into the definition below:

Transgender/Trans/trans* – Umbrella terms used to describe people who identify as:

  • Transgender
  • Transsexual
  • Cross-Dresser
  • Intersex
  • Neither male nor female
  • Androgynous
  • A third gender
  • or who have a gender identity which we do not yet have words to describe.

Important note: It is essential that you have undertaken the Trans Awareness e-learning module prior to coming on this course or you may be turned away.

Code: CWB221A-B Understanding Adult Attachment within Supervision

This one and a half day professional level course focuses on chapter 10 from 'Attachment Based Practice with Adults' by Clark Baim and Tony Morrison, which addresses attachment-based supervision. 

It is aimed at supervisors who have already completed supervisor training - Morrison 4x4x4 model. Prior attendance on the attachment training (children and adults) is preferable but not mandatory.

You will need to complete an exercise (audio record a supervision session and listen to it) between the two sessions. Please only book on to the training if you will be able to complete this task.
