Code: CWB420A-B Trauma Informed Approaches with Children and Families Training (Virtual)

This live interactive virtual classroom 2 day training introduces practitioners to contemporary trauma theory and principles of trauma informed practice that can be applied across a range of professional roles. The training will be delivered through Microsoft Teams with two 2-hour sessions each day and reading/homework for participants between each day to facilitate the learning.

In recent years, there has been an increased awareness that traumatic experiences are common among children and families interacting with children’s social care, and addressing trauma is essential for their health, safety and recovery. However, professionals often feel ill-equipped to understand and effectively respond to trauma in a way that promotes safety, resilience, strength, and hope.

The interactive training will provide space for practitioners to reflect on their practice and the impact of trauma on both themselves and the families they work with; practice new skills; and develop knowledge in relation to culturally sensitive, trauma informed practice.

This course is reserved for second year social workers.

Important.  Please see "Additional Information" for joining instructions.
