In order to make decisions regarding the steps that should be taken to secure the safety and well-being of a particular child, practitioners need a sound understanding of the law as it pertains to children, particularly that which governs the Family Courts. This course offers an overview of the legal system and court structure as well as focusing on the experience of going to court and giving evidence. Training on the first day is in a courtroom setting, followed by a half day classroom session focusing on statement writing and the role of the social worker as an expert.

Code: INC377 East Sussex Quality Mark for Inclusion: Documentation Launch Workshop

The East Sussex Quality Mark for Inclusion has been developed to maintain an inclusion standard threshold in our local area and acknowledge the inclusive practice already embedded in East Sussex schools. The Quality Mark comprises of two documents; a set of Quality Mark desktop criteria and a companion document that will enable schools to reflect on current practice, and identify opportunities for further development or areas of excellence. These documents, and the expectations for when they should be completed, will be shared with you at this launch workshop.

Code: EYCP353 EYFS : Practitioner Child Protection Training for Childcare Settings (EVENT FULL)

This course provides participants with the knowledge that will enable them to identify signs and indicators of abuse and their responsibilities in terms of responding to and highlighting any concerns, appropriately using East Sussex County Council procedures. It will also discuss the wider safeguarding role and discuss how to identify children and families who require an Early Help Plan and where to get the appropriate help and advice.

This course is NOT suitable for Registered Childminders and Designated Safeguarding Leads. Please attend either the "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings" or "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher training" as applicable.
