This course will introduce participants to the current thinking, research and theory in relation to female sexual abuse, both in terms of perpetrator profiles and the impact on victims. Consideration of the obstacles that professionals face in recognising and responding to female sexual abuse will be given throughout the session.

- how the Council can be liable in health and safety law

- some of the key health and safety risks that the council faces such as outsourcing and driving and how these can be best managed to minimise prospective liability

- what good health and safety leadership looks like having regard to guidance and the trainer’s personal experiences working for Local Authorities

Code: EYCP391 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Training for Childcare Settings - Refresher Training

This course will update the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including childminders, with the aim of renewing their DSL certificate (valid for 2 years). The course will facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an organisation’s culture.

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, the Prevent Duty guidance and Information on British Values, all attached for your information.

There is an expectation that as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training.
