Code: AS695 Assessment : Assessment and Reporting Arrangements at the End of Key Stage 1 : What Every Teacher Needs To Know

This course sets out the statutory requirements for assessment of, and reporting on, pupils' achievements at the end of Key Stage 1 (KS1) in Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Science.

It is aimed at teachers in Year 1 and Year 2, and is suitable for both experienced teachers and those new to the profession, or new to KS1.


The course will cover:

  • approaches to effective assessment
  • standardisation and moderation (both formal and informal)
  • administration of, and preparation for, the end of KS1 tests and the phonics screening check
  • analysis of past end of KS1 test papers
  • strategies and approaches to ensuring the best outcomes for all pupils.
