In this session, Clark Baim will present an introduction to the Dynamic-Maturational Model (DMM) of Attachment and Adaptation. After explaining the model, Clark will address issues pertaining to management, supervision, and practice - including assessment, individual case conceptualisation, family-systemic formulations, intervention approaches, and case management issues.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is covered over 6 hours. It provides an excellent introduction to the basic principles of First Aid, and trains you to take control of a first aid situation in the workplace in the absence of a fully trained First Aider (see First Aid at Work).
The course tutor will assess you throughout the course, through multiple choice papers and observations. Upon completion, First Aid Awards will provide a certificate.
Your certificate will last for 3 years.

Support groups provide a much needed opportunity to talk about fostering issues with other carers. They are attended by carers who
have a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise which they have accumulated through many years in fostering. The support group can offer
an opportunity to share experiences and provide invaluable support to each other. Some of the support groups will have designated speakers to share
information or address a training need.

The Fostering Changes Programme was established in 1999 by the Conduct Disorder, Adoption and Fostering National and Specialist Team at the Maudsley Hospital. Following the increasing request from Foster Carers for more practical solutions to the problems they were experiencing with their Looked After Children to manage behaviour and avoid disruptions.
The Fostering Changes Programme is behaviourally based and derives from research into parenting skills, attachment, educational attainment and the academic progression of looked after children who are in Foster Care. It is flagship course for Foster Carers that provides them with the practical skills in behaviour identification and management that will support the longevity and stability of placements and make a significant difference to a looked after child’s life.
The course is open to all foster carers regardless of their experience and relationship to the children they look after.
This course is aimed for children 12 years and under
This is an 7 week course and all parts should be attended.
