Code: AS715 Assessment : New Key Stage 2 Writing Assessment Support Event - FREE!

These FREE interactive events aim to support Year 6 teachers to identify gaps in their pupils' writing and develop strategies to move them forward effectively. There will be opportunities to share good practice and effective assessment approaches between schools and teachers will be supported to develop their pedagogy and practice. The sessions will be facilitated by trained moderators and supported by colleagues from the Local Authority. The aim is that all primary and junior schools will send at least one Year 6 teacher to one of these new, supportive events.

Governors who are called upon to review exclusions at a Governor’s Disciplinary Committee (GDC) should receive this training to equip them to discharge their duties effectively, as they have a responsibility to review the exclusion in accordance with the law. This training is also useful for
supporting the Governing Body to know the questions to ask around exclusions data, in their role as critical friend to the school.

This evidence based mindfulness programme offers an opportunity to learn a range of mindfulness skills to help equip you to thrive in busy and challenging work settings. This course has been evaluated independently and shown to have positive benefits in terms of reductions in stress and improved psychological wellbeing. Other identified benefits included increased compassion and a possible reduction in compassion fatigue; this has clear implications for the quality of relationships with service users.
 
Important note: The trainer will contact participants in advance of the course as part of the application process. Participants are expected to complete daily home practice and attend the scheduled Saturday retreat session - see additional information.
