Code: CWA288AB Adopting a Whole Family Approach to Domestic Abuse and Promoting Safety - Professional Level Workshop

This popular course is essential for practitioners from Children's Services and Adult Social Care, education, early help, the police and health, to review, update and consolidate core knowledge about domestic abuse. 

This two day ‘professional level’ workshop is part of the domestic abuse thematic learning pathway and will give an overarching and updated view on current research, theory and practice in the field. It is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need.

Important note: You will need to have undertaken all three foundation level domestic abuse e-learning modules prior to attending this course (see additional information under full details) or you may be turned away.

Code: GOV664 Governor Training : Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The national Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice applies to maintained schools and academies. It says in paragraph 6.3: There should be a member of the governing body or a sub-committee with specific oversight of the school’s arrangements for SEN and disability.

This session will provide governors with SEND responsibilities the knowledge to work effectively with the schools SEND Lead and ensure the governing body's repsonsibilities are being met.

This half day workshop provides knowledge and confidence to support families to access online services and information digitally, delivered by the Family Information Service in Children's Services who established the Parent Information Contact (PIC) https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk/childrenandfamilies/familysupport/parent-information-contacts/ scheme in 2007. 

Workshop for frontline staff in working with parents including;  

Administration support staff, community support organisations, early help keyworkers, health visitors, library staff, nursery nurses, parent support advisors, school pastoral care workers, school teaching assistants and school reception staff and volunteers.

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

The primary aim of this programme is to provide a range of clear and practical strategies to help carers develop skills in forming positive relationships and managing difficult behaviours.

The concept of an adolescent emerged during the early twentieth century and with it the time of adolescence being associated with turmoil or indeed the emotional ‘storm and stress’ that is thought to be a normal and, in some formulations, even healthy part of adolescence in some historical theories (see Graham, 2004).

 

 

The course is open to all foster carers regardless of their experience and relationship to the children they look after.

This course is aimed for children 13 years and Over

This is an 8 week course and all parts should be attended.
