This one day course aims to update and deepen the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with the aim of ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2016, as well as with locally developed guidance and procedures.

Code: CWB135 CSA: Working with Children and Young People who have been Sexually Abused (EVENT FULL)

This course aims to increase your understanding of the impact of child sexual abuse across the lifespan, considering the different areas of development that can be effected and the ways in which harm can be mediated in the longer term. This workshop can be attended alongside two workshops scheduled for 13 September focusing on the family context (CWB136) and on non-abusing parents (CWB137) to create a comprehensive view of child sexual abuse, taking a whole family approach, over the 2 days. Each session must be booked separately.

Code: EYCP328 EYFS : Practitioner Child Protection Training for Childcare Settings (EVENT FULL)

This course provides participants with the knowledge that will enable them to identify signs and indicators of abuse and their responsibilities in terms of responding to and highlighting any concerns, appropriately using East Sussex County Council procedures. It will also discuss the wider safeguarding role and discuss how to identify children and families who require an Early Help Plan and where to get the appropriate help and advice.
