The new supervision and appraisal model for ESCC (Maximising Performance) has an emphasis on managers and their staff having continuous, high quality, coaching conversations to support everyone to increase their performance.

It is recommended that you complete the "Maximising Performance" elearning module prior to attending this workshop

This workshop looks at the skills needed by managers to get the most from these discussions, including how to tackle poor performance and how to further motivate high performers.

This course provides essential information, guidance and professional development for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).  This new enhanced 2 day training programme will provide staff with the skills, knowledge and understanding to undertake the role within an educational setting, ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2016, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 as well as locally developed guidance and documentation. In order to gain your certificate you must attend both days training, however you may start in the role of DSL after completion of the first day.

Code: EYCP327 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings

This course aims to explain the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and to give practitioners the skills to undertake the role within a childcare setting. The course aims to facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an establishment's organisational culture.

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, attached for your information. There is an expectation that as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse.

Code: CWB127A-H Parenting Assessments - A Holistic Approach

This course aims to provide social workers with the tools and research that they need to undertake parenting assessments within the Court setting. The focus will include domestic abuse, mental ill health, problematic drug and alcohol use, learning disability, child’s needs assessment and sexual risk.  There will be pre-reading before each session, and from session two, one participant each session will need to present a case for discussion using a peer supervision model.
