This workshop looks at the skills needed by managers to get the most from these discussions, including how to tackle poor performance and how to further motivate high performers.
It will consist of 2 x half day, interactive, virtual classroom sessions, spaced 1 week apart. The course will use a case study to explore specific issues, particularly around dealing with staff who are struggling to perform well.
Each session will have trainer input, group work discussion and practice.
After day one, delegates will plan actions that they will undertake between day one and day two.
It is essential that you complete the "Maximising Performance" elearning module & pre-course work prior to attending this workshop.
Any specific questions regarding supervision and appraisal can be sent to the trainer up to five days before the course, to help contextualise the sessions. There will be a case study, the first part of which will need to be read before day one.
This one day live interactive virtual classroom, delivered through Microsoft Teams, aims to update and deepen the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with the aim of ensuring compliance with the latest addition of Keeping Children Safe in Education, as well as with locally developed guidance and procedures.

You are familiar with basic Excel techniques, such as entering data, writing simple formulas and applying basic formatting. You now want to find different ways of presenting your data, so it is effective and eye-catching.

The course assumes that delegates are familiar with: entering data and simple formulas in Excel.
To take part in this course, delegates will need an internet-connected device with camera and microphone, and an internet connection which can stream video in reasonable quality.

This virtual classroom course delivered via Zoom will update the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including childminders, with the aim of renewing their DSL certificate (valid for 2 years). The course will facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an organisation’s culture.

There is an expectation that as the DSL you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile.
This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system.
As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.
