In order to make decisions regarding the steps that should be taken to secure the safety and well-being of a particular child, practitioners need a sound understanding of the law as it pertains to children, particularly that which governs the Family Courts. This course offers an overview of the legal system and court structure as well as focusing on the experience of going to court and giving evidence. Training on the first day is in a courtroom setting, followed by a half day classroom session focusing on statement writing and the role of the social worker as an expert.

This conference aims to share best practice in relation to safeguarding provision in Early Years Settings. A range of speakers and workshops will showcase approaches to improving provision in settings with particular reference to local and national priorities such as managing children’s harmful sexual behaviour, responding to domestic violence and abuse, and keeping children safe online.

Safeguarding is everybody’s business; the conference will support Early Years safeguarding leads in improving knowledge, skills and confidence, keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with the latest legislation and frameworks, and providing access to a range of examples of best and innovative practice across a range of challenging agendas.

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.
