This popular course is essential for practitioners from Children's Services and Adult Social Care, education, early help, the police and health, to review, update and consolidate core knowledge about domestic abuse.

This two day ‘professional level’ workshop is part of the domestic abuse thematic learning pathway and will give an overarching and updated view on current research, theory and practice in the field.  It is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need.

Important note: You will need to have undertaken all three foundation level domestic abuse e-learning modules prior to attending this course (see additional information under full details) or you may be turned away.

Code: ESC/17/148 First Aid at Work (3 Day) (EVENT FULL)

The First Aid at Work course, covered over 3 days, will qualify you as a First Aider and will enable you to deal with an accident or injury in the workplace. It will qualify you to diagnose a variety of possible illnesses and injuries and will enable you to assess the need to seek further medical attention.

At the end of the course there is a written exam and trainees must demonstrate the skills and knowledge learnt during the course, when there will be some hands on floor work. Trainees will receive a certificate at the end of the course and the qualification lasts for three years.

This training is aimed at those who maintain the Single Central Record (SCR); Bursars, Business Managers, Office Administration, Headteachers, Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and Safeguarding Lead Governors, to ensure compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and safer recruitment guidance. There will be opportunity to consider each column/section of the SCR with opportunity for questions and queries. We will also consider the responsibilities of the Headteacher, Safeguarding Lead Governor and Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring compliance.
