Code: CWA225AB Adopting a Whole Family Approach to Domestic Abuse and Promoting Safety - Professional Level Workshop

This popular course is essential for practitioners from Children's Services and Adult Social Care, education, early help, the police and health, to review, update and consolidate core knowledge about domestic abuse. 

This two day ‘professional level’ workshop is part of the domestic abuse thematic learning pathway and will give an overarching and updated view on current research, theory and practice in the field. It is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need.

Important note: You will need to have undertaken all three foundation level domestic abuse e-learning modules prior to attending this course (see additional information under full details) or you may be turned away.

Code: CWB190A-B Attachment Based Practice with Families, Part 1- infancy, early childhood and the school years (EVENT FULL)

This two-day course forms the foundation level of a programme of training on 'Attachment Based Practice with Families',  It replaces the previous 'Application of Attachment Theory' 2 day course. Practitioners who have attended the Application of Attachment Theory course are eligible to book directly on to the second part of the programme: 'Attachment Based Practice with Families, Part 2 - Adolescence, Adulthood and the Family System'

 Part 1 of the course focuses on infancy and early childhood, moving up to the school years. It introduces contemporary attachment theory, its links with child development, neurobiology and the emerging field of narrative medicine. 

Attachment theory is essential for understanding how human beings function in relationships and how people develop social and psychological difficulties. It is also fundamental for understanding what constitutes psychological wellbeing.

Code: EY788A2 EYFS : New to Reception 2018-2019 (Day 1) (EVENT FULL)

This course aims to develop specialist knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It supports new or returning reception teachers to ensure that their provision is of high quality and that it meets the needs of their class. It will support delegates to understand the principles of the EYFS including how to plan and organise an appropriate learning environment and how to develop effective systems for observation, assessment, planning and evaluation.

 

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION: This is a four day course; there is a choice of two dates for day 1: EY788A1 on 4 July 2018 and EY788A2 on 19 September 2018. Delegates only need to attend one of these dates. This is so that schools can choose which session is more appropriate to attend to ensure home visits and induction processes are not interrupted.

All delegates who attend a day 1 session must also attend the remaining 3 sessions EY788B-D on:
