A practical session that explores the links between mathematical pedagogy and best practice in provision in a reception classroom. This course aims to give teachers the skills and confidence to enable children to develop their mathematical skills in a play based environment and gain evidence that contributes to expected and exceeding Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) judgements for Maths.

This two-day course has been arranged for Health Visitors only. Further dates for other staff groups will be advertised when available. 

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence based approach that aims to guide clients in the process of changing many types of unhealthy behaviours including drugs and alcohol use, health behaviours like smoking, eating, sexual behaviour, school attendance, parenting, adherence to medication and offending behaviour. The approach can be adapted to address other behaviours as well.
