Code: DSL094A-B Child Protection : Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Training - Initial Training for Schools (EVENT FULL)

This course provides essential information, guidance and professional development for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).  This new enhanced 2 day training programme will provide staff with the skills, knowledge and understanding to undertake the role within an educational setting, ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2016, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 as well as locally developed guidance and documentation. In order to gain your certificate you must attend both days training, however you may start in the role of DSL after completion of the first day.

Code: CWB163A-I Mindfulness for Resilience and Wellbeing (EVENT FULL)

This evidence based mindfulness programme offers an opportunity to learn a range of mindfulness skills to help equip you to thrive in busy and challenging work settings. This course has been evaluated independently and shown to have positive benefits in terms of reductions in stress and improved psychological wellbeing. Other identified benefits included increased compassion and a possible reduction in compassion fatigue; this has clear implications for the quality of relationships with service users.
 
Important note: The trainer will contact participants in advance of the course as part of the application process. Participants are expected to attend the scheduled Saturday retreat session - see additional information.

Code: CWB146 Risk Assessment and Analysis Follow Up

This is an in-house half day follow up workshop with the Principal Social Worker, Nicola McGeown for practitioners who have attended the one day Risk Assessment and Analysis training course to explore how they are applying the learning in practice, with reference to ‘real’ current assessment casework. Delegates who have booked places on the full day Risk Assessment and Analysis courses CWB142, CWB144, CWB153 and CWB145 are expected to book on, but the session is also open to practitioners who have previously completed the training.
