This workshop looks at the skills needed by managers to get the most from these discussions, including how to tackle poor performance and how to further motivate high performers.
It will consist of 2 x half day, interactive, virtual classroom sessions, spaced 1 week apart. The course will use a case study to explore specific issues, particularly around dealing with staff who are struggling to perform well.
Each session will have trainer input, group work discussion and practice.
After day one, delegates will plan actions that they will undertake between day one and day two.
It is essential that you complete the "Maximising Performance" elearning module & pre-course work prior to attending this workshop.
Any specific questions regarding supervision and appraisal can be sent to the trainer up to five days before the course, to help contextualise the sessions. There will be a case study, the first part of which will need to be read before day one.
This webinar aims to support teachers to make effective and accurate ongoing assessments of reading (including phonics) in Key Stage 1.
We will unpick the framework statements in detail and explore how to look for, and record, evidence of the statements in pupil work, and share best practice approaches to gathering evidence.

Participants will be introduced to a new set of practice principles that have been designed by East Sussex practitioners and consider how to integrate holding difficult conversations with families with Solution Focus and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
