This course provides essential information, guidance and professional development for Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs).  This new enhanced 2 day training programme will provide staff with the skills, knowledge and understanding to undertake the role within an educational setting, ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2016, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015 as well as locally developed guidance and documentation. In order to gain your certificate you must attend both days training, however you may start in the role of DSL after completion of the first day.

Support groups provide a much needed opportunity to talk about fostering issues with other carers. They are attended by carers who have a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise which they have accumulated through many years in fostering. The support group can offer an opportunity to share experiences and provide invaluable support to each other. Some of the support groups
will have designated speakers to share information or address a training need.

This meeting provides an opportunity for SENCOs, Early Years Pupil Premium and Safeguarding Leads working in early years settings to discuss any current support needs or challenges, and to share examples of good practice. Each session includes a briefing on a particular aspect of Inclusion and an opportunity to hear updates from representatives from the ISEND team, Standards and Learning Effectiveness Service (SLES), Children's Integrated Therapy Service and Children's Centre/Health Visiting team.

There is an opportunity for 1:1 discussion at the end of the first session and before the start of the second session.
