Code: BEAT05 Beat, eating disorders awareness training (EVENT FULL)

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity.

We are a champion, a guide and a friend to anyone affected by these serious metal illnesses. Our vision is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders.

Beat will be working with NHS Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to provide professional training across Sussex. The training will increase participant’s knowledge of eating disorders and also of local service pathways. Thus, enabling more people to spot the early signs of an eating disorder and then know how to act, how to respond to a young person and then where to go with their concerns. Meaning more young people will get the vital early support they need.

Code: EYCP358 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - Refresher

This course will update the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including childminders, with the aim of renewing their DSL certificate (valid for 2 years). The course will facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an organisation’s culture.

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, attached for your information. There is an expectation that as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse.

If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training. You can access this training by clicking on the Elearning tab at the top of this page.

They are attended by carers who have a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise which they have accumulated through many years in fostering. The support group can offer an opportunity to share experiences and provide invaluable support to each other. Some of the support groups

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

Code: CWA250 Mental Health: Impact of Adult Mental Health on Children and Young People - Professional Level Workshop

This popular workshop is delivered by CAMHS LSCB professionals. It explores on the impact of adult mental health on children and young people and is for staff that directly support families where adult mental health issues or illnesses might be present.

This workshop is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need and specifically Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and SENCOs from schools and early years providers. 

Important note: Participants will need to have undertaken the Mental Health Foundation eLearning (Modules 1 and 2) prior to attending this course (see additional information under full details) or you may be turned away.
