The aim of the training is to inform delegates of the legal requirements for the safe management of asbestos.

This course will provide information on the risks associated with asbestos, and enable delegates to implement suitable and sufficient management systems, to ensure compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

There is particular reference to the duty holder and who that could be, the surveys available, what to expect in a survey and the asbestos management plan and its use and requirement.

This is our fourth Digital Practice Conference where our Digital Practice Leads will explore and provide resources on how to help keep children and families stay safe online.

In the morning you will be given an update from CEOP ambassadors and then a session on criminal exploitation in which a young person will share their experiences of County Lines and the role technology plays.

Code: EYCP399 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Training for Childcare Settings - Initial Training (Cancelled)

This course will explain the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and to give practitioners the skills to undertake the role within a childcare setting. The course facilitates achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an establishment's organisational culture.

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, the Prevent Duty guidance and Information on British Values, all attached for your information.

There is an expectation that as the DSL you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training. You can access this training by clicking on the Elearning tab at the top of this page.

If you have already attended this training and need to update your training you must attend the EYFS: Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher Training. The refresher course has been reviewed to support experienced DSL's who have attended the initial training. This initial course is specifically designed to meet the needs of new DSL's.

Code: ESC/20/93 LCS/EHM (Liquid Logic Children’s) Search and View

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

Code: ASC/20/171 Mental Capacity Act 2005: A multi-agency approach to complex cases (EVENT FULL)

This half-day multi-agency training is for clinicians, health and social care professionals and all practitioners who are required to conduct or contribute to mental capacity assessments and make best interest decisions in complex cases.

The course is designed to supplement existing Mental Capacity Act training. Participants should have a good awareness of the Mental Capacity Act and have completed basic awareness training.

It is a participative course involving multi-agency discussion of case studies and is aimed at learning through problem-solving and discussion.
