This popular course is essential for practitioners from Children's Services and Adult Social Care, education, early help, the police and health, to review, update and consolidate core knowledge about domestic abuse. 

This two day ‘professional level’ workshop is part of the domestic abuse thematic learning pathway and will give an overarching and updated view on current research, theory and practice in the field. It is relevant for all East Sussex children's services practitioners working with children, young people and families assessed as level 3 or 4 on the Continuum of Need.

This course will provide an overview of different aspects of child sexual abuse which need to be considered when managing and supervising cases. A summary of the key issues relating to children and young people who are sexually abused; those who perpetrate sexual harm; and, how sexual abuse happens in families, will be provided. The course will go on to consider the obstacles faced by social workers and other professionals when managing these cases and ways in which supervision can address these to maximise good practice.

Code: CWA236 Involving Families in Goal and Outcome Planning (for Health Visitors) Session 1

All families who are level three on the Continuum of Need who do not have a keyworker will require a Health Plan (a shortened version of an Early Help Plan). In preparation for the introduction of the Health Plans, all Health Visitors and Locality Managers are invited to attend a 'fast track' half day workshop.

This workshop will assist delegates to recognise and develop SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound) goals/outcomes that are based on analysis of need and the involvement and empowerment of families in the planning process, therefore enabling families to make sustainable changes for themselves.

Additional complimentary training about the ICT recording process and procedure for the Health Plans is being planned. Dates for these will be released soon.
