Support groups provide a much needed opportunity to talk about fostering issues with other carers. They are attended by carers who have a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise which they have accumulated through many years in fostering. The support group can offer an opportunity to share experiences and provide invaluable support to each other. Some of the support groups
will have designated speakers to share information or address a training need.

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.

The aim of the course is to help participants:

  • have a better understanding of child sexual abuse including the legal context
  • develop a better understanding of the signs and indicators of child sexual abuse
  • consider factors that make children and their families vulnerable to sexually abusive behaviour
  • have a better understanding of how they can manage disclosures of child sexual abuse
  • what is Child Sexual Abuse.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) in the workplace is a two day training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and help their ESCC colleagues who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

You will learn to recognise warning signs of mental ill health, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone whilst keeping yourself safe.

Code: AS709 Primary Assessment and Moderation Update for Headteachers (EVENT FULL) (Cancelled)

This event follows on from the Primary Assessment and Moderation briefings held in December 2018, although it is not necessary for delegates to have attended one of these. Headteachers will be updated on any key changes to Key Stage 1 and 2 assessment and moderation arrangements for 2019.

The briefing will include the latest information from the Department for Education, and issues and opportunities identified during ongoing moderation and training activities across the county. There will also be opportunities to hear from other headteachers about what is working well in their schools.
