This course will update the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including childminders, with the aim of renewing their DSL certificate (valid for 2 years). The course will facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an organisation’s culture.

There is an expectation that as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training. This 1-day workshop is for Practice Managers leading social work teams. It introduces the Resilience Toolkit - a resource set up around social work roles, providing practical tools to equip managers to lead team based resilience workshops and activities. The workshop prepares managers to deliver a half day team session.
