Code: EYCP379 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - Initial Training

This course aims to explain the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and to give practitioners the skills to undertake the role within a childcare setting. The course aims to facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an establishment's organisational culture. 

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, attached for your information. There is an expectation that as the DSL you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training. You can access this training by clicking on the Elearning tab at the top of this page. 

Please also familiarise yourself with the Prevent Duty guidance and Information on British Values, attached for your information also. 

If you have already attended this training and need to update your training you must attend the EYFS: Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher Training. The refresher course has been reviewed to support experienced DSL's who have attended the initial training. This initial course is specifically designed to meet the needs of new DSL's.

Code: ESC/19/115 First Aid at Work Recertification

This course will re-qualify you as a First Aider in the workplace. The course is for those who wish to renew their First Aid at Work qualification. First aiders should attend the training up to 3 months before the expiry date of their certificate or within 28 days of the expiry date.
 
 
Please note your certificate will be valid from the date of achievement and not from your previous expiry date.
 
 
Anyone unable to renew their qualification during that period will need to attend a full First Aid at Work 18 hour course. 
 
Please bring your First Aid at Work Certificate with you to show the trainer. You will not be allowed to do the training unless you are able to show your certificate.

LCS Search and View is a half day of training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Children’s Liquid Logic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate Liquid Logic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned images held within ECaseFile. 

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses LCS or EHM whether to view client data or input data into the system. 

As a new staff member your manager must request that a Liquid Logic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills. 

You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.
