Code: AS670 Assessment : Assessment and Reporting Arrangements Training for Year 6 Teachers

This course will inform teachers of the statutory arrangements for end of Key Stage 2 assessment and reporting in 2018.
Delegates will engage in standardisation and moderation of writing, discuss the 2017 Year 6 national curriculum tests, consider the implications for the classroom, and share good practice in terms of on-going assessment and strategies for gathering evidence of achievement.

Code: BEAT02 Beat, eating disorders awareness training

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity.

We are a champion, a guide and a friend to anyone affected by these serious metal illnesses. Our vision is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders.

Beat will be working with NHS Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to provide professional training across Sussex. The training will increase participant’s knowledge of eating disorders and also of local service pathways. Thus, enabling more people to spot the early signs of an eating disorder and then know how to act, how to respond to a young person and then where to go with their concerns. Meaning more young people will get the vital early support they need.

Code: EY775B-D EYFS : New To Reception 2017-2018 Day 2-4

This four-day course aims to develop specialist knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  It enables reception teachers to ensure their provision is of high quality and that it meets the needs of their class.  It will support delegates to understand the principles of the EYFS including how to plan and organise an appropriate learning environment and how to develop effective systems for observation, assessment, planning and evaluation.

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION:

This is a four session course; there is a choice of two dates for session 1: EY775A1 on 14 July 2017 and EY775A2 on 20 September 2017 – delegates only need to attend one of these dates. This is so that schools can choose which session is more appropriate to attend to ensure home visits and induction processes are not interrupted.

All delegates must attend EY775B-D on 1 November 2017, 5 December 2017 and 21 February 2018.

The Competency Framework for Governance sets out the skills and effective behaviours expected of governors and specifically the Chair. These include:
