You will develop an understanding of the core skills and have practice sessions.

Completion of this course will qualify you to enrol on the ILM Level 3 Fast Track Coaching course to further develop your skills.

If you are a supervisor or line manager we advise you completing the Coaching for Managers course.

Code: EYCP390 EYFS : Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) Training for Childcare Settings - Refresher Training

This course will update the knowledge of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), including childminders, with the aim of renewing their DSL certificate (valid for 2 years). The course will facilitate achieving excellence in Child Protection and Safeguarding by giving tools to embed this into an organisation’s culture.

Please ensure you are familiar with the Continuum of Need and the Indicators, the Prevent Duty guidance and Information on British Values, all attached for your information.

There is an expectation that as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you know the signs, indicators and pre-disposing risk factors of abuse. If you are unsure of these please ensure you access the online safeguarding children course before you attend this training. Code: LSC595 LSCB: Parental Drug and Alcohol Use and the Impact on Children (EVENT FULL)

This course aims to increase participant’s understanding, skills and knowledge when working with parental substance and alcohol use. This course will benefit staff from Children's Services (Social Care and Education), Health, Community Mental Health Team & Youth Offending Team, who are working with children & families or with adults who have children & may be involved in making and/or receiving referrals regarding child care and child protection issues.


Important note: It is essential that you have undertaken the Safeguarding Children eLearning and the Alcohol and Drugs foundation (Modules 1 & 2) eLearning prior to coming on this course (see additional information under full details), or you may be turned away.
