Code: AS842 Assessment : Key Stage 1 Assessment Support Events CLOSED TO BOOKINGS

These events aim to provide an opportunity for Year 2 teachers to check their understanding and application of the assessment frameworks to real pupils' work.

Each event will run as a 'mock' moderation meeting where teachers will be able to practise discussing their judgements with an experienced moderator, supporting them to articulate and justify their judgements with clear evidence and providing them with the skills to challenge a judgement if required.

Facilitators will support Year 2 teachers to identify gaps in their pupils' learning and develop strategies to move them forward effectively.

There are three events early in the academic year (November/December) and three later in the year (March) in order to give teachers several opportunities to check their understanding with trained county moderators.

Code: CWB291A-B Trauma informed practice with children and young people (EVENT FULL)

This two-day training from Dr Kristine Hickle introduces practitioners to contemporary trauma theory and principles of trauma informed practice that can be applied across a range of professional roles.

In recent years, there has been an increased awareness that traumatic experiences are common among children and families interacting with children’s social care, and addressing trauma is essential for their health, safety and recovery. However, professionals often feel ill-equipped to understand and effectively respond to trauma in a way that promotes safety, resilience, strength, and hope.

The interactive training will provide space for practitioners to reflect on their practice and the impact of trauma on both themselves and the families they work with; practice new skills; and develop knowledge in relation to culturally sensitive, trauma informed practice.
