It is the responsibility of all to act and lead by example in ways that support equality and diversity. Successful organisations are the ones that reflect the richness of diversity in their workforce that exists in their local community. It takes account of people of different ages, appearances, genders, origins, cultures, race, geographical locations, health and mental health, relationships, sexual orientations, class, religion and beliefs, political beliefs, social and economic status and those with or without responsibilities for dependents. However, to be successful an organisation must first look to and understand its organisational culture.
Organisational culture refers to the collective beliefs and principles of an organisation. Every organisation has a unique culture and gives it a sense of direction which decides and controls the way its workforce behave among themselves and to those outside their organisation. Without understanding what its collective beliefs and principles are, an organisation could experience poor staff engagement, retention and services.
You will need to bring your own lap top on the day.
