This course provides participants with the knowledge that will enable them to identify signs and indicators of abuse and their responsibilities in terms of responding to and highlighting any concerns, appropriately using East Sussex County Council procedures. It will also discuss the wider safeguarding role and discuss how to identify children and families who require an Early Help Plan and where to get the appropriate help and advice.
Please find attached the Continuum of Need and indicators and information on British Values. These will be referred to during the training so please familiarise yourself with these.
This course is not suitable for Registered Childminders and Designated Safeguarding Leads. Please attend either the "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings - initial Training" or "Designated Safeguarding Leads Training for Childcare Settings – Refresher training" as applicable. See attached Guidance document for further information.

LCS Chronologies is remote training session for Children's Services staff who have recently joined East Sussex County Council and who already have access to Liquid Logic's LCS system.
The purpose of a chronology is to draw together important information into a timeline to highlight patterns and or significant events, created to support our understanding of need and risk.
In LCS, a chronology can be created from existing system recorded events/case notes and events or observations added manually by the social worker.
Training sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams, please reserve the time in your diary.
You should assure yourself of the suitability of the learning environment from which you will access the online course. In order to focus on the learning content, you will need to access the session from a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. If it is not possible to do this within the office then you should select an alternative location/room that is more suitable, by agreement with your manager.
In order for you to be able to attend you will need to ensure that you are using an ESCC device that has a microphone and video capabilities.
