Code: LSC768 ESSCP: Young People and Substance Misuse Professional Level (Virtual)

The aim of this course is to provide substance misuse training to support individuals with substance misuse problems, contribute to their protection and carry out basic substance misuse interventions. Whilst also looking at the holistic response to problematic substance misuse needs, such as mental health, sexual health/exploitation, child protection, and the law. This live, interactive training will be delivered via Microsoft Teams.

Important note: It is essential that you have undertaken the Safeguarding Children and Young People and Alcohol and Drugs foundation (Modules 1 and  2) e-learning prior to coming on this course (see additional information under full details), or you may be turned away.

Is this course for you?

You are familiar with basic Excel techniques, such as entering data, writing simple formulas, and applying basic formatting. You now want to find different ways of presenting your data, so it is effective and eye-catching.

Pre-requisites

The course assumes that delegates are familiar with:
• entering data and simple formulas in Excel
This online course has example worksheets you can practice with after the session.

There is also a 3 hour, classroom-based version of this course, which has more opportunity to practice techniques during the training.

To take part in this course, delegates will need an internet-connected device with camera and microphone, and an internet connection which can stream video in reasonable quality.
Ideally you will also have a PC or laptop with Office 365 installed, as chart tools are displayed differently in earlier versions of Excel.

EYES Search and View is a half day of remote hands on training for East Sussex County Council users to familiarise themselves with the Childrens ISEND LiquidLogic platform. This course is designed to show you how to navigate LiquidLogic, find clients and view case data and includes viewing scanned/uploaded images held within ECaseFile

This course is for anyone joining an ESCC team that uses EYES whether to view client data or input data into the system.

Prerequisites 

  • As a new staff member your manager must request that a LiquidLogic account is created for you before attending this course. When the account is created you will receive an e-mail invitation to book onto this course. Existing users are welcome to book if they wish to refresh their skills.
  • You must complete this training in order to be able to access the LIVE system. The trainer will activate your account on attendance.
  • Training sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams, please reserve the time in your diary.
  • You should assure yourself of the suitability of the learning environment from which you will access the online course. In order to focus on the learning content, you will need to access the session from a quiet location where you will not be disturbed. If it is not possible to do this within the office then you should select an alternative location/room that is more suitable, by agreement with your manager.
  • In order for you to be able to attend you will need to ensure that you are using an ESCC device that has a microphone and video capabilities

The Black Lives Matter movement has exposed the horrendous injustice, discrimination and oppression faced by black and minority ethnic people on a daily basis around the globe. As a society, we fall dreadfully short of the mark when it comes to ensuring equality – and unfortunately, social work is not exempt. A real commitment to anti-racism within social work is a constant, ongoing process and this presentation is designed as a brief overview.

The course is facilitated by the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and is responding to learning needs identified in this area.
